Description
State Fair of Texas Ferris Wheel. The State Fair of Texas Ferris Wheel is one of the most iconic and beloved attractions at the annual State Fair of Texas, which takes place in Dallas each year. The Ferris wheel, also known as the Texas Star, is one of the largest Ferris wheels in North America, standing at 212 feet tall and featuring 44 gondolas that can hold up to six passengers each.
The Texas Star was originally constructed for the 1985 State Fair of Texas and was the tallest Ferris wheel in North America at the time. It has since undergone several upgrades and renovations, including the addition of LED lights that illuminate the wheel at night, creating a stunning visual display.
Riding the Texas Star Ferris wheel is a popular tradition for many fairgoers, providing a unique and thrilling view of the fairgrounds and the Dallas skyline. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and provides riders with a bird's eye view of the fair, as well as breathtaking views of downtown Dallas and the surrounding area.
In addition to the Texas Star, the State Fair of Texas features a wide range of other rides and attractions, as well as food, music, and entertainment. The fair has been a beloved tradition in Texas for more than a century, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond to experience the unique and vibrant culture of the Lone Star State.
